Costa Blanca Food

Food on the Costa Blanca

Everyone´s heard of Paella but not many people know that its birthplace is in Valencia.

There are a great many local speciality dishes for both meat and fish lovers, and vegetarian. Think of Arroz meldosa con rape, gamas y setas (Rice Stew with Monkfish, Langoustines and Wild Mushrooms), or Dorada a la sal (Gilthead Bream baked in a Salt Crust), both long established dishes native to our region of Spain.

Valencia has some of the best soil in Europe for growing Class I fruit and vegetables which come straight from the farm to our kitchens. We can come up with the perfect menu to suit yours and your guests´ palates.

Think of sharing these in your beautiful Mediterranean villa:

  • Canapes and Cava.
  • Selection of tapas and jugs of Sangria.
  • Delicious nibbles and cocktails.
  • A four course gourmet meal with a selection of fine wine
  • Seasonal salad and a hearty Paella with light fruity wines.
  • A tasty BBQ, finger-licking delights washed down with some good Spanish beer.
  • A traditional cake – try the sublime Tarta del Calabaza, or
  • Seasonal fresh fruit salad.
  • Finished off with a selection of liquers

paellaWith the golden yellow of olive oil, the deep red of ibérico ham, the colours of saffron and lemon and of course the vibrant reds of some of the best wines of the world, the colours of the Spanish flag are everywhere to be seen. Put these colours with the pervasive scent of orange and orange blossom, and you probably already know that the heart of Spanish food lies in its simplicity and insistence on the quality of the raw materials.

We have several menus we can suggest for your celebration, or we can tailor-make one to your exact specification taking into account individual needs.

The choice, as ever with celebrateinspain, is yours.
